Lush Christmas & Halloween 2017

Lush Christmas & Halloween 2017 | rljlowe
Ohhh it's that time of year again, where I trot off to Lush to take pictures and get a sneak peak of all their new Christmas and Halloween products. I decided to do things a little bit differently this year and mainly film my trip, because I'm starting to really get back into my YouTube and need to keep that new content coming... With that being said, I did still snap some pictures for those that enjoy still photos rather than videos, so here we go!

Zoella Winter Wonderland

rljlowe | Zoella Winter Wonderland

Treasure Me Gift Collection | £40

My little sister, Ellen, likes to enter a lot of competitions on Twitter and Instagram. So when she messaged me saying she'd finally won one, you can imagine the surprise when she revealed it was two tickets to the Zoella Winter Wonderland. She asked if I would accompany her to London to visit the Winter Wonderland and of course, I had to say yes. I never thought I'd be excited for Christmas in September but I can tell you now, having a wander through that Winter Wonderland got me very excited about the upcoming festive season.

Summer in the City 2017

rljlowe | Summer in the City 2017This year, Ellen and I decided to take a little weekend trip up to London to attend Summer in the City. For those of you that don't know, SitC is a YouTube festival where you have the chance to meet your favourite YouTubers, meet other fans and watch industry specific panels. I made a video about our time at SitC, which can be found on my YouTube channel if you're more of a visual person!

50th Birthday Celebrations in Bath - Part Two

rljlowe | 50th Celebrations in Bath

If you read my previous post, you'll know the stress my sisters and I went through in order to organise this day for my Mum - it was all done out of love and managed to come together in the end. Now onto Mum's birthday, the actual day out. As mentioned previously, my car had a little bit of a meltdown which meant I wouldn't be able to drive us to Bath but luckily Mum said that she didn't mind - her car's got more space anyway!

50th Celebrations in Bath - Part One

rljlowe | 50th Celebrations in Bath
So on the 1st July 2017, my wonderful Mother turned 50. If anyone reading this knows my Mum, she's not really one for birthday celebrations, but this year I wanted to make sure that her day was truly special. Well, it's not everyday you turn 50 now, is it? The idea of a big surprise party was out of the question, I imagine Mum would have walked in, been completely horrified and turned straight back out the door again. Instead, she'd mentioned that she wanted to spend the day with me and the girls, and was trying to plan her own birthday weekend - naughty lady! Instead, I told Mum that all she needed to know for now was that we would be going for a day out in Bath, then onto a meal in the evening - just us. But of course, I had more planned...

Harry Potter Studio Tour

rljlowe | Harry Potter Studio Tour

As a joint present for mine and Harriet's birthdays, Mum bought us all tickets to go to the Harry Potter tour in London. We've been a couple of times before but as is the way with these things, they keep adding in new attractions, so we just have to keep going back. Such a hardship, I know. It was the first time we'd gone without it being "Christmas at Hogwarts" and they now have the Forbidden Forest section and the Hogwarts Express. Excited didn't even come close.

Surprise Trip to Norway!

rljlowe | Surprise Trip to Norway!

As you can probably guess from the title, Rob took me on a surprise trip to Norway for my birthday. Last year he surprised me with tickets to Coldplay (amazing) and said that this year he would keep his present low-key but of course, he decided against that. With a little help from Sels and some little white lies told here and there, they managed to keep the trip a complete secret.

A Week with My Girls

rljlowe | A Week with my Girls

Falmouth University gave me a few things to be grateful for, and one (or three) of those things are my friends. We met through our course and have been friends ever since. It hasn't really been easy keeping up with each other, especially as Sels spends most of her time either in Norway or Kenya. But, we've made it work and through social media we're mostly able to keep up with what we're all up to. This aside, we managed to all get together to have a few days hanging out in Bristol, which was an absolute dream.

Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

rljlowe | Album of the Week

Another week, another album. It's getting so difficult to pick new albums to listen to, I've started to go into the "unknown/dreading" pile, which I'm hoping all pleasantly surprises me! This week is no exception, I actually listened to this album longer than a week just because I wasn't ready to switch CDs just yet...

Thoughts on October

rljlowe | Thoughts on October
This month has felt quite full-on and I can't really get my head around what happened in October. I know that the mornings and evenings got darker, making it really hard to get out of bed for work, and my laptop charger completely packed in. I never realised how much I used my laptop before I was stuck staring at the battery slowly depleting.

Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

rljlowe | Friday Feeling: Album of the Week
Honestly, can you believe it's almost the middle of October? I feel like I'm banging on about it, maybe it's just me getting older, but this year is flying by! I feel like I've been really busy these week but on reflection, it doesn't really seem like I've accomplished anything - annoying! This week I've been really enjoying my car tunes, find out why...

An Honest Look into My Ski Season Experience

As you may know, last winter I was living in the French Alps working as a chalet host with Rob. It was the first time I'd ever been skiing and to say I was a little apprehensive is a huge understatement. I didn't know if I'd enjoy skiing, we were both unsure on what chalet hosting would be like, it would be the first time we properly lived together, and I really hated the cold...

My Autumn Kindle Picks

rljlowe | My Autumn Kindle Picks

Whilst I love reading, I never seem to "find" the time to do it unless I'm on holiday where the sole objective is to get tanned and relax! I read quite quickly which is an absolute nightmare on my bank balance, I mean, I know Kindle books are cheaper but they soon add up. After finishing Game of Thrones, I found myself a little lost and couldn't find any books I thought I'd enjoy. Here are some that helped fill that little literary hole.

Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

rljlowe | Album of the Week
The weeks are going so quickly, I'm not sure if it's something to do with the darker evenings now or the fact that I go to bed way too early! I keep thinking that July was only last week, I reckon I'm in denial. Maybe good music has helped the week fly by, check out what I've been listening to...

Sneak Peak: Lush Christmas Launch 2016

rljlowe | Lush Christmas 2016
On Friday night, I was kindly invited by the lovely ladies at Lush Worcester to attend their Christmas launch. I had such a lovely time looking at all the new products (and the return of some old favourites), whilst having some drinks, nibbles and demos of the new collection. Obviously I couldn't leave without taking some pictures of the products, to say a took a "few" is a huge understatement!

Honestly, this post is going to be very picture heavy, it can't be helped when all the products are so pretty! So prepare yourself...

Thoughts on September

September was actually a really good month for me. It's usually around this time of year that I start to feel a bit low and tend to have a hard time getting myself out of the funk but for some reason, this year has been completely different.

At the end of August I attended my cousin's wedding and was asked if Caitlin and I could perform her first dance song - which we obviously agreed to (I love first dances and nerves aside, it was really special to be a part of their day). Leading up to performing, I was feeling quite nervous because I've never really played in front of my family and this gig was kind of a big deal...

October Goals

I honestly can't believe it's October already, this year is going horrendously quickly and I'm not sure if I'm okay with it. On the plus side, I go off to the Alps next month to start my second ski season (it might seem crazy to those who knew my experience last time but it's going to be different this time; I swear). I'm usually a summer baby but there's something about the air this year that I'm really enjoying. Driving in the dark, wrapped up with the heating on and some good music playing really makes me happy in the autumn/winter months.

Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

rljlowe | Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

I've know, I've been a bit absent from the blog this week. Now it's starting to get darker earlier on in the evenings, taking blog pictures has become a bit of a nightmare! Figuring out when to take pictures is next on my list... But I'm back with my album of this week!

Friday Feeling: Album of the Week

rljlowe | Friday Feeling: Album of the Week - Jack Garratt

I've been thinking about doing a weekly "feature" on the blog for a while now but I wasn't really sure how to go about it or if it would work on rljlowe. The other day I decided I need to stop worrying and just do it, give it a try. So here we are. My car doesn't have an aux cable or the radio, so I rely on CDs for my entertainment on the drive to work and it's helped me discover some new music and also re-discover some old favourites...
